Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a few FAQ's

Q: What should I wear to my sailing lessons
A: Layers are best, with a windbreaker available.  Non-marking preferably rubber soled shoes, please.  You can bring a small duffel bag.

Q: Will I be a great sailor after my lessons?
A: Probably not, but you'll know what to practice, and how to do things right and safely.  They say it takes ten minutes to learn to sail and ten years to become really good at it.  Both of those time periods are optimistic!  It isn't rocket science, however, and you'll become reasonably proficient after about 50 hours of practicing what we teach you in the beginning class.
